Micro-Winery

at Coes Farm

Organic natural wines and ciders made in our micro-winery

The east block in the vineyard is planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & Pinot Meunier to make Traditional Method wine. We sent our first harvest in 2025 to Daniel & Nicola Ham, our winemakers in Salisbury. Our first traditional method wine will be released in 2028.

In the west block we planted Pinot Gris and Sauvignac to make still white and orange wines. Our 2025 harvest is now in tank in our tiny ‘garagista’ winery, and we are looking forward to releasing these wines in July 2026.

Whilst we have been waiting for our own harvest, Daniel & Nicola have made three wines to showcase our wine style using organic fruit from nearby Ham Street vineyard.

In 2021 we made a wild ferment white wine with Pinot Blanc from Essex. We passed the wine to our friend Gnina Balchin at In The Loop to make Wild Goose, our semi-sweet English Vermouth.

When we first moved to the farm there was an orchard of around 60 trees including Discovery, Russet and Bramley apples. In 2022 we planted an additional 175 cider varieties; Dabinett, Gilly, Three Counties and Harry Masters Jersey. Our first cider apple harvest will be 2026. So fingers crossed for a great Coes cider in 2027.
